STAND OUT

Starting out without a grading system, We were children and oh so happy, Rejoiced every moment, it’s form so pure. Being taught knowledge is power, But never did we know what awaits. What if between the pages of life, There was written “As You Wish”? We were not meant to become a leaf on a tree,  But meant to be unique, Meant to be that strange fruit, The one only curiosity can find. We were not meant to reach the sky, That’s where we were to start. Infinity and beyond, Creating ladders with choices unrestricted. We were not meant to fall in like sheep, We were meant to be the brightest star. Creating craters, Touching everything. Being the jack of all and master of none, That wasn’t for us. We were meant to master all. So hold up, think, Would you like to explore endlessly?

A CONVERSATION

Sitting on the window seat of an aircraft, She said my poems are nice. This coming from her, I felt ecstatic. It had been a while since we talked, Thought this was a good ice-breaker. A conversation began. It all took me almost a year back, When we used to share our daily routines, Which is why now we don’t talk often. There was no suspense anymore, No will to know more. It had become boring. But not that day, Although she seemed to be sleepy, My eyes too were red, Reasons plenty to list down, But we still carried on, ‘Cause it was a nice feeling. 2 hours went by and she slept off at last. Looking at her, So peaceful and sweet, Even after all that had happened last night, Gave me courage. Recalled, when she was all I wanted, Only to realize, I always had her but, Stretching it way too far. The distance made me stronger, Helped me overcome. Now being happy for what we have, It could have gone worse, ruining what we cherishe
